Mike Tyson, the youngest heavyweight world champion of all time and undisputed heavyweight champion, plans to return at the age of 53. Recently, more and more former legendary boxers are pulling on gloves for charity and it seems “Iron” Mike has also been in the mood for it. He said he was thinking of 3-4 rounds exhibition bouts to help the homeless and drug-affected people with the money they receive. And for that purpose, he has already started training.

“I’ve been hitting the mitts for the last week. That’s been tough, my body is really jacked up and really sore from hitting the mitts. I’ve been working out, I’ve been trying to get in the ring, I think I’m going to box some exhibitions and get in shape. … I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three or four-round exhibitions for some charities and stuff. Some charity exhibitions, make some money, help some homeless and drug-affected motherf**ker like me. … I do two hours on cardio, I do the bike and the treadmill for an hour, then I do some light weights, 300, 250 reps. Then I start my day with the boxing thing, I go in there and hit the mitts, 30 minutes, 25 minutes, start getting in better condition. I’m starting to put those combinations together. I’m in pain, I feel like three guys kicked the sh*t out of me.” – Tyson told rapper T.I. in an instagram Live video.

Tyson’s last official fight was 15 years ago. In 2005, his defeat against Kevin McBride was his last professional fight, and then in 2006 there was another exhibition bout. Since then, he has tried himself as an actor, written a book, given lectures and is now busy as an official marijuana grower. Sometimes a video is posted on social media sites where you are currently boxing with his dog or showing a trick to fans and younger sportsmates.

Tyson isn’t planning on coming back tomorrow, he knows it will take time to get himself in shape, but he seems determined for now. He was famous for being obsessively able to train in his prime, if he was left with that obsession, he would carry out his plan. And obviously don’t have to look for an opponent because a lot of people would even be willing to pay to get a slap even from “retired” Tyson.
