On Saturday night, Tyson Fury defeated Deontay Wilder, the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion, with a very good fight and became world champion again. Formerly the World Champion of IBF / WBO / WBA Super, he has now acquired the belt of his fourth major organization, WBC’s belt and the heavyweight belt of The Ring Magazine. It is no exaggeration to say that Fury has once again reached the top. And his father, John Fury, thinks it’s the time for Tyson finish the fight.

“I want my son to retire now. He’s done enough. It’s been an uphill battle for him, I think it’s in the back of his mind. He can’t do anymore. He’s won every professional title. Enough is enough. There’s more to life now. He’s given it his all, he’s got no more to prove. He’s proved he’s been a worthy champion from this country. He’s been 13 years as a pro and he’s always been the opponent. He’s 32 years old, he’s got a young family and I do believe his children deserve their father. He’s done enough and that’s my opinion.”

It’s a bit surprising what John Fury said. Tyson has not only become a world champion this weekend, but beat Deontay Wilder with a confident, good fight and a TKO. And with that, he’s really only one step from a fight for the undisputed championship title. It is planned that there will be a third fight against Wilder in the summer if he wants. But then he can unify his title with IBO / IBF / WBO / WBA Super Champion Joshua or the current champion if Joshua loses. After Fury defeated Wilder, a Fury – Joshua fight is that boxing fans are most keen on if we speak about the heavyweight.

Tyson also recently stated that he only wants three fights: against Wilder, Joshua and Whyte. (Whyte was later replaced by Chisora.) If not all three, but after the third fight against Wilder, there could still be a fight against Joshua before he retires. Don’t retreat with a sense of lack of who won the battle between the two of them, and don’t take away from the fans. Joshua wants this fight.
