Bob Arum: Joshua’s chin is very weak, if Ruiz could send him to the floor, Pulev will knock him out

Bob Arum is convinced that Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev will defeat Anthony Joshua and unify his titles with the winner of the third Wilder – Fury fight. Arum bases his theory on knowing Andy Ruiz Jr., who was not a KO, then a fighter like Pulev will knock Joshua out smoothly.

“He (Joshua) has no chin. I knew Andy Ruiz prior to his first fight with Joshua. Every one of Ruiz’s fights except the one previous to that (Dimitrenko) was promoted by us. So we are experts on Andy Ruiz. We know how good he is, what he lacks, we know he has fast hands, a pretty good chin, but he’s not a knockout guy. Trust me, look at his record. He fought a lot of ham & eggers and he couldn’t knock them out. The fact that he knocked out Joshua the way he did indicates to me that Joshua’s chin is very, very suspect. If you compare Ruiz with Pulev, Pulev is a much better fighter than Andy Ruiz. Therefore, what I’ve said is if Ruiz can knock Joshua out, then Pulev has an even better chance to knock him out.” – said Arum to IFL TV.

Arum also said he knew how much Hearn wanted Joshua and Fury to fight, but that wouldn’t happen. According to Arum both Fury and Pulev will win in next fights and he is already planning a Fury – Pulev fight.

Arum could not tell when the Joshua – Pulev fight would take place. It is up to the experts to decide when to re-organize the event. All sports are in a difficult situation right now, maybe the May / June events can already be held, but he thinks. The April events will probably slip.

Closed gates fights have no chance, because on the one hand, he would not be worth it financially, though he thought about it. On the other hand, the Athletic Committees no longer allow them because they would be too risky.

And Arum messaged to Hearn was telling him not to speculate or say stupid things that there might be a Joshua-Fury fight sooner if the fight against Pulev was delayed too late.
