The WBO / WBA Super and WBC Franchise lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (14-1; 10 KOs) and the IBF champion Teofimo Lopez (15-0; 12 KOs) will likely compete in the title fight around April and May. One of them will be the undisputed champion in this division. Most of the experts consider the Ukrainian phenomenon to be the winner of the fight, but Tyson Fury does not. According to him, Lomachenko will not be able to defeat young Lopez.

According to Fury, Lopez is like a heavyweight boxer on short legs. So strong and fast that, according to Fury, in light and super lightweights no one could beat him, not even Lomachenko. He has the power to send anyone to the floor in one fell swoop. In addition, he is extremely talented and confident, he stands up to anyone, he only needs one thing to “talk” a little more. In that, Fury could certainly help him to sell himself better.

Lopez’s talent is obviously no question to anyone, though he hasn’t faced big names so far. But in his last fight could beat the IBF hampion Richard Commey easily and took his belt. However, according to many, for Lopez is too early the fight against Lomachenko. He has not been four years since he was a pro and has no serious experience. Although there are just as many professional matches behind them, their record is similar, but the list of defeated opponents is very different. Lomachenko has had 14 world title fights out of 15 pro fights and has already world titles in three different division. Not to mention his amateur past.

The question is how will Lopez strong in mentally. Lomachenko is not only technically a genius, but the intelligence of the ring is unique, bit by bit grinding his opponents until they give up the fight or lose their confidence, concentration and the Ukrainian plays with them. Lopez is trying to rely on his strength, recently saying he wants to knock out Loma not to let the judges decide. It’s hard to imagine Lopez being able to win with decision, he can only trust the KO.
